Getting Started with WooCommerce

The first step to using WooCommerce is to install the plugin. Hover over the Plugins item in your Dashboard menu and hit "Add New". Type "WooCommerce" into the search field, and install the WooCommerce plugin by Automatic. Once installed, you will need to run the Wizard. For this Wizard, you will need the following information:

  • The address of your store.
  • The currency you wish to accept.
  • The type of products you wish to sell (physical, digital, or both).
  • Your payment gateway (PayPal or Stripe are both recommended).
  • Your shipping zone, and the units of measurement you will use to ship, if that is applicable.
  • Whether you'd like to use Automated Tax Calculations (recommended), and if you'd like to use MailChimp (optional).
  • Whether you'd like to install JetPack (optional).

Once WooCommerce is installed, you can begin by fine-tuning your settings, or go straight to adding your first product.
