The Media section of your site stores any and all uploads, including photographs, graphics, and documents.
Typical photograph and graphic formats that are accepted include JPG, GIF, and PNG. These items should be properly sized and saved for web use. Best practice dicates using images that are no larger than 72dpi, and measuring less than 1200px wide or tall. If that's confusing, please visit our article on Media Library Best Practices.
Typical formats for document types include PDF, TXT, and DOC.
Any and all content uploaded to your Media section can be accessible to the general public, so please do not store sensitive information here.
To upload a new media item, log into your WordPress Dashboard, and click on Media. You can also hover over Media and click on the flyout menu item Add New.
Uploading a new media item is as easy adding an attachment to an email. Simply click on the Select Files button, navigate to the item you wish to upload, and hit Open. You will need to wait for a few seconds for the item to upload to the site. After that, you'll be able to find it in your Media Library, which is located under Media, or in the flyout menu Library.
